750 feet..

…down the elevator into the caverns of Carlsbad.  We arrived too late to take the last foot trek but could still travel to Carlsbad gangDuck!the bowels of the mountains in the elevator.  Once there,  in an eery silent world of stalactites and stalagmites,  we made our way around the 1.3 mile path.  It should be one of the modern wonders of this She's shorter...world!   The view from the parking lot is truly spectacular as well.

The big room or some of it

 look up, look way up!!

This trip is not for people who may be claustrophobic or afraid of the dark.  To get there you travel  a 7 mile winding roaDon't look down...k!d which is not kind to motorcoaches with it’s hairpin turns and tailgaters wanting to get up or down the hill 30 seconds faster.  If you get the chance, walk slowly (it took us 2 1/2 hours), wear good rubber bottom shoes and don’t belch as it echoes forever…..

Sight to behold from the parking lot

Anyway, it looks like you’re still having fun, and that’s always a good thing.
